Norwegian romantic black metal band Minneriket released a lyric video for the track "Time For Suicide". "We Need to Talk About the Darkness..." has been the constant thorny theme throughout Minneriket's latest album, Anima Sola, which was released in January this year. It's an unpleasant topic: painful, awkward, distressing, uncomfortable... and largely unspoken of. Silent tragedy kept behind locked doors, words left unsaid, memories suppressed. This fourth full-length from Minneriket speaks of solitude and ineptitude, loss and yearning; humorless black metal with music and lyrics equally painful and raw.
With "Time For Suicide", fittingly the final song on the album and the last video drawn from it, the topic is not only dragged violently into the light, but forced to the forefront as the viewer's eyes are involuntarily pinned open to watch the representation of a jagged, festering wound in video format. Laying open the mind's fatal infection is the only way to release the purulence and "Time For Suicide" does just that.
With the release of this video, Akslen guarantees that 100% of the proceeds from the Minneriket webstore from now through the end of January will be donated to non-religious and non-political organizations working with the prevention of suicide and self-harm among youths. Link
