Norwegian black metal one-man outfit Minneriket will release a new album entitled Stjerner, speil og svartebøker... on 31st October and now offers a taste of what will be the band’s second full-length.
The driving force behind Minneriket is Stein Akslen, who has already achieved collaborative success in Norway’s critically acclaimed black metal band Blodsgard. The 2013 release by Blodsgard, Monument, received high honors on many "Album of the Year” metal lists. Akslen has also established a firm presence with the dark ambient solo project V0id&Khaos. In Minneriket, he has fully released the passionate darkness of his mind into a musical format that is both disturbing and fulfilling, a near psychotic break in the glassy thin turbulent shell of today’s world. Minneriket’s first offering, the debut Vargtimen, released in June 2015, shattered that glass and with the sophomore issue Stjerner, speil og svartebøker... Akslen stays the course, peeling back the layers of a time filled with memories long hidden but never forgotten. The lyrics are deep and haunting, serving to awaken the listener’s own intuitive mind. The resulting fusion of word and music forms chaotic dissonant black metal with a true Norwegian influence brought up to date with interjections of surprising melody and tortured vocals.
The album will be released on CD by ABAR-Akslen Black Art Records and on cassette in collaboration with Livet Er Avlyst Records, digitally through Bandcamp and iTunes, streaming through Spotify. Cover artwork for Stjerner, speil og svartebøker... was done by Khaos Diktator Design. In the player below you can give a listen to two tracks, "...Of Storms And Sorrows" and "Jærtegn". Minneriket is a must for every fan of true Norwegian black metal as it should be. Link
