Florida (USA) based drone/dark ambient act Caustic Reverie is about to release on 5th June a new album entitled The Flooded Assembly. Global unrest, financial insecurity and a pandemic out of control made for a troubling start to the year. With his dayjob shuttered by the outbreak of COVID-19 in the middle of March, composer/sound designer Bryn Schurman found himself sheltering at home with his synths, and so the already 24th full-length album of Caustic Reverie is done.
The nine drones and evolving soundscapes of The Flooded Assembly channel the unease, anxiety, and hopes into a loose musical narrative. The album will be available on most digital platforms, but until then you can watch and hear "Malinger" in the form of a psychedelic animated video in the player below.
