Florida (USA) based experimental dark ambient/drone act Caustic Reverie will release on 6th April a new album entitled Ultra Vires. This is already the 21st official release for Caustic Reverie. The album will be available on most of digital platforms. Caustic Reverie is a side project of The Forgotton’s Bryn Schurman to explore darker textures and soundscapes. Techniques such as image-based synthesis, fractal and algorithmic composition tools, have been explored as well as manipulation of stringed instruments and field recordings in its sound design.
While remastering his 10th album Inadmissible Evidence, Bryn Schurman found a wealth of additional source material and alternate takes that hadn’t made it to the original. What started as a few bonus tracks for the expanded edition metastasized into a companion album in its own right. Experiments with tape treatment, reamping and granular synthesis transformed the elements into paranoid nightmares. Sonically, Ultra Vires blends drone and noise with dark ambient soundscapes.
