THE FATHER OF SERPENTS - Sophomore Album Out Now And Available For Streaming In Full

Belgrade (Serbia) based dark/doom metal band The Father Of Serpents have just released their new album entitled Years Lost In Darkness. The album is out now as a digital edition, the physical CD is expected to be released early in 2021. The entire album is available for streaming and you can hear it in the player below.

The Father Of Serpents released their debut, Age Of Damnation, in 2017, and with the new album are certainly taking a significant step in the right and more original direction. The band comments: "This album is quite different from our debut that was heavily inspired by 90s death/doom. On this album we have more alternative influences and we tried to catch the moment of inspiration without thinking and analysing too much. Result is more mellow music and far more original than the debut was. We didn't think through these changes too much, everything came quite spontaneously and natural, we just didn't want to limit ourselves to any particular genre. Our trademark 90s doom sound is still there, but there are some hints of black metal blast beats, dark wave, ambient, sometimes even post rock and shoegaze influences. The album tells the emotional story of uncertain times we all are living in now. " Link
