Italian post-rock/blackgaze band Australasia have released a new single called "Perdere". This is the first of a series of tracks, based on the concept of "Perdere e Ritrovare" (To lose and find again). A cycle where negative and positive events follow each other, leaving hope for the future does not fail, even at a time, like the present, when we look at it with so much uncertainty. The track "Perdere" is almost entirely instrumental and it collects sensations and impressions of the last (difficult) months. "Perdere" (To Lose) is the first of a cycle of tracks that will be released independently over the next few months. Musically it is a work that exploits the language of post-rock, incorporating heavy roots and a passion for soundtracks by masters such as Badalamenti and Carpenter.
Musically, it's a track centred around the sound of the clean guitar that deflates into heavily distorted moments where the voice of a vintage RAT takes centre stage. The riffs and arpeggios follow each other, ferrying the listener towards the final catharsis. The artwork was created by illustrator Sara Fasolin and it depicts a magpie (also present in other Australasia covers), collector of forgotten objects or objects taken away from human beings.
