German gothic rock masters Sweet Ermengarde have finally some exciting news! After that the vocalist Daniel Schweigler left the band in October last year, leaving the main man Lars Kappeler on his own, now things are moving forward. The band has announced a new vocalist, Drew Freeman, joining the band. The UK based vocalist Drew is not a name in the gothic rock scene, he was in Sometime The Wolf and is active with All My Thorns.
In other news, Sweet Ermengarde will be releasing on the 21st of January two tracks to celebrate the pivotal moment in the bands' history. The tracks, digitally available everywhere via Trisol Music Group are "Standing By The Sea" and a new take on one of the band's timeless classics, "A Promise To Fulfill". The new stuff is available for pre-save at this location.
Lars comments: "We call this a pivotal moment as it also an opportunity to introduce a new face and voice to the band. Many of you will be familiar with his previous incarnation with Sometime The Wolf and his current project, All My Thorns, to which Drew remains fully committed alongside his new band members from across the water. Drew brings many years of experience and creativity to Sweet Ermengarde and which will see him add his own signature style to existing songs but also contribute to new works which are in the pipeline. Having seen the Sweet Ermengarde machine action over a number of years, Drew and the band identified the opportunity to work together and it quickly became clear that there was a meeting of minds and approaches which would be more than the sum of its parts."
In other news, Sweet Ermengarde, are announced to play their first show in 2022 at the Solar Lodge Convention III on the 2nd of July in at Bahnhof Langendreer Bochum Kulturzentrum in Germany.
