Swedish alternative darkwave/darkpop duo Råhypnos is back with a new single, "Starving Skin". The song is the first single to be released from Råhypnos upcoming second album entitled What is Real?, which will be released this autumn.
Compared to the previous album, Do We Wan't It (2018), the new single is intimately stripped down and direct, with an almost completely acoustic sound with the vocals and harmonies in focus. In order to convey the creative atmosphere of the band sitting around the kitchen table and playing together, it's actually recorded in Pablo's kitchen.
"Starving Skin" is about the longing for light and hope and was written in the middle of the darkest season in Sweden when you barely have time to see the sun before it gets dark again and the feeling of having wet cold feet. Halfway through the song, the sound changes, creating a hopeful feeling of sensing the spring air sweeping in and the feeling that everything is coming to life again. Link
