POSEIDON - To Release Debut Album In February

Italian avant-garde folk/black entity Poseidon will release the self-titled debut album on the 28th of February via Brucia Records. Poseidon is the eponymous collaboration album between Argento, Azoth (both Spite Extreme Wing, Ianva) and Algol (Hiems, Forgotten Tomb, Kirlian Camera). Originally the project started to take shape in 2006 when Argento and Algol were visiting Le Tombe beach on the southwest side of the island of Elba.

Poseidon's music moves, wanders and becomes one with the singing Sea, flowing effortlessly, and blending beneath the underwater currents of its stream a unique mix of acoustic black metal, folk music, psychedelic rock and avantgarde.

Poseidon's music is vastly improvised: written and recorded during ritualistic night sessions, using a vast range of unorthodox mediums and instruments such as mellotron, tube radio and various folkloristic frame drums.

A phenomenally multi-layered work, coming from the depth of the ocean like a message in a bottle containing a sacred ritual spelt in ancient tongues, and aimed at those souls that are curious and adventurous enough to go out to sea, leaving the land behind. You can for now listen to the album medley below. Link
