WAZZARA - New EP And Video For The Cover Of Traditional Swiss Folk Song Out Now

Swiss post-metal/blackgaze formation around composer Barbara Brawand, Wazzara, has released a brand new EP - Ombreine. To accompany the release, the band has unleashed a brand new music video for the track "Guggisberglied".

With their very own version of "Guggisberglied" Wazzara can touch deeply and lastingly. A Swiss folk song first mentioned in 1741. Originally scored in Bernese German (one of the Swiss idioms), it tells of a lost, unrequited love.

Singer Barbara reveals about "Guggisberglied": "This song is very dear to me - I've carried it inside me since I was a child. Its melody exerts a strong magical, irresistible force on me, which we wanted to emphasize with the new arrangement."

The EP, Ombreine, tells of archaic visions and alpine myths and is dedicated to transience, the vanity of existence and the destructiveness of nature, slumbering within all of us. In a simultaneously heavy, sombre, and ethereal manner, Wazzara weave elements of doom, post-metal and blackgaze into their very own web of abysses and yet luminosity.
