Swiss post-metal/blackgaze formation around composer Barbara Brawand, Wazzara, present their video for "What Lies Beneath", featuring performer Jamuna Mirjam Zweifel, visualizing the song's story with her hauntingly enchanting performance art. "What Lies Beneath" addresses the only two things in life that are certain: constant change and death.
Singer Babs explains the lyrical background of "What Lies Beneath": "This aspect resonates especially in song's final exclamation "remember me", a memento mori, in which tradition I wrote the song. It also touches on the consequences of realizing being mortal - on the one hand, we try in vain to give our existence a raison d'être, but on the other hand, this very realization can be of crucial motivating importance."
"What Lies Beneath" is taken from Wazzara's lates EP Ombreine, which was released earlier this year. Watch the new video right below. More about the Ombreine EP and previously released video for "Guggisberglied" can be checked over HERE. Link
