Today, the German gothic rock formation Projekt JU released its debut full-length, Neuland, through LuckyBob Records, distributed by SPV.
Projekt JU is a two-piece gothic rock project consisting of singer and composer Jens-Christian Usner and drummer Markus Lesch. During the production of their first full-length Neuland, the two were supported by many musician friends. In addition to many regional greats, Neuland also featured guest musicians from around the world, such as Alen Brentini on guitar (known for Andreas Gabalier and Eric Martin from Mr. Big), Martin Martino Gershwitz on keys (former keyboardist for Meat Loaf, Lita Ford, Eric Burdon, Vanilla Fudge and Iron Butterfly), Guy Erez on bass (Miley Cyrus, Alan Parsons Project) and Benni Cellini (Letzte Instanz) on cello. Encouraged by the consistently positive feedback from all directions, Jens-Christian Usner and Markus Lesch decided to add a few more songs to their full-length and finally put Projekt JU on a professional footing. German-language lyricism, accompanied by rock and gloomy sounds, takes the listener into a long-forgotten world, a world that in this day and age often no longer finds attention but which is still very much alive in each of us.
