Today, German black metal outfit Servant unleashed the first single/video, "To Crown A Beast", from its ferocious sophomore album, Aetas Ascensus, slated for release on 7 July through MDD Records.
With its nine explosive tracks, the album is a masterful blend of rage, melody, and profound emotion. The music sees an evolution from the band's debut, incorporating more fierce and wild elements while simultaneously heightening melodic and emotional components. Lyrical themes revolve around diverse religious texts, with a distinct focus on gnosis. Politically charged, the album includes narratives of emperors and kings who, succumbing to madness, have catalyzed their own downfall and destruction of their realms.
