Featuring medieval metal masters Tanzwut, industrial dark rock and metal act Schattenmann has released a stunning cover version of "Komet", originally performed by German rap artist Apache 207 and music icon Udo Lindenberg. By now ranking as one of the most successful German singles, there has never been such a version of the track. Schattenmann and Tanzwut added their unique touch to "Komet", which awaits you in the player below.
Tanzwut's frontman Teufel comments: "I grew up in the former GDR. Udo Lindenberg and Rio Reiser was the first German rock music I heard from the West in the late 1970s. It has had a huge impact on me to this day. It is an incredible experience for me to interpret this song together with Schattenmann".
Schattenmann's frontman Frank Herzig adds: "'Komet' is an incredibly great song, with very emotional lyrics and a deep message for me. It was a beautiful musical journey and an honour to do this metal cover with Tanzwut. I still get goosebumps when I think about hearing the chorus finished for the first time and how our two voices harmonize together".
In the summer of 2023, Schattenmann released its chart-topping fourth studio album, Día de Muertos, via AFM Records. With a phenomenal #10, it marked the band's highest chart entry in the German album charts.
