The Awakening, South Africa’s favorite gothic rock/metal export, who relocated to the USA in 2008, released a brand new single named “The Carriage”, a dramatic and powerful new song. “The Carriage” marks a triumphant return to the heavier side of The Awakening, considered by the band, as described by lead singer and front man Ashton Nyte, to be their, “darkest and heaviest yet”. It is a hint of more to come as the lead single for their full-length album, set to be released in March 2016.
“The Carriage” was mastered by Maor Appelbaum (noted for his work with Faith No More, Sepultura and Therion) in Los Angeles. The song features a blistering guitar solo from Mark Gemini Thwaite (guitarist for The Mission, Peter Murphy and Gary Numan) and is the first recording to feature The Awakening’s new bassist, Chela Rhea Harper (previously of Coal Chamber). "The Carriage" is available for digital download at this location. Video clip for the track is expected soon, but a short preview is available over HERE. Link
