GOTTWUT - Releases Their First Single

Russian industrial metallers Gottwut recently released their first EP/single entitled Oil. The single consists of two tracks and is available from Bandcamp as "name your price" digital edition. Gottwut formed last summer in Moscow. However, it the September 2015 should be regarded the official group birth date, when the drummer joined and the group had finally become a complete entity. At the beginning of this year, the group played a few concerts, and afterwards gathered in Make Some Noise studio for recording its debut maxi-single.
As for the name, it is a neologism made by means of combining two German words and it can be interpreted as "God's fury". However, the name has no ideological connotation whatsoever. When making their choice the musicians were guided primarily by the uniqueness of the word and its expressional appeal. Gottwut music is a modern reinterpretation of the industrial sound canons of the 90s groups as the musicians has been to a significant extent influenced by the classics of the NDH like Megaherz, Oomph! and Rammstein. Electronic arrangements hold a special place in the sonic palette of the group. They are not just only providing the background but play an equal part and quite often even a leading part alongside with the other musical instruments.
Vocalist and lyricist Pavel commented about the songs: "The main theme of the songs is human instincts, which are not always accepted by the contemporary society and which may be described as the desires of the people which are hidden, but invincible." Special attention was also paid to the design of the cover, so that it can best complement the impression from the songs. The author of the cover design is a Kiev artist Anton Skeor.
