Two years after their stunning debut album, Fake Lights, the quartet from Solothurn (Switzerland), Last Leaf Down, unveils a new single named "The Path" for which they made a captivating music video. This is the first unveiled track that comes from their upcoming new album, which is set to be released in March 2017 via Lifeforce Records. The new mesmerizing melancholic track contains the much-loved characteristic melodic vocal lines with an impressive wall of guitar sounds. Is this shoegaze? Maybe not- but it's shoegaze from the woods.
It took some time to discover the multilayered, intricate world between shoegaze and post-rock, but time is something Last Leaf Down are not worrying about. Last Leaf Down concentrates on songs of timeless beauty with melancholic nuances, and created the debut album Fake Lights (2014) in this manner. Started in 2003 as dark and doom metal band with heavy tunes, the group changed direction after the integration of new musicians in 2007. Since then, Last Leaf Down soon became known for playing heavenly, ethereal sounds added by distinct, dreamy vocals. Watch the video and give a careful listen to "The Path" in the player below. Link
