German progressive folk black metal band Klabautamann announce their new album. The title of their new work will be Smaragd. The record is planned to be released in the mid of June 2017 both on CD and as digital download.
For the recording sessions of Smaragd, Klabautamann were supported by various big names of the international metal scene. For instance, they could get Anna Murphy (Nucleus Torn, former Eluveitie) to record the clean vocals on the album as well as playing the hurdy gurdy. Fredy Schnyder, Nucleus Torn as well, plays the hammond organ on the album. Furthermore, Smaragd has been mixed and mastered by Armin Rave (who worked with, among others, Darkened Nocturn Slaughtercult, Grabnebelfürsten and Pavor), who also recorded previous Klabautamann albums Our Journey Through The Woods and The Old Chamber. For the cover, the band could get another well-known name to join their crew: Costin Chioreanu drew the artwork, known for his works for Enslaved, At The Gates, Arcturus and many more.
Smaragd will be released via Zeitgeister Music in June 2017, being Klabautamann's fifth album following Our Journey Through The Woods (2003), Der Ort (2005), Merkur (2009) and The Old Chamber (2011). The album will contain 10 tracks and have a duration of about 54 minutes. Pre-orders are expected to start in May. Link
