UNEXPLAINED SOUNDS GROUP - Releases Compilation Featuring Iranian Dark Experimental Underground Artists

The people at the label/platform Unexplained Sounds Group released a very interesting compilation titled Visions of Darkness in Iranian Contemporary Music. Like the title suggests the compilation features Iranian music artists that are mostly dealing with dark ambient, experimental electronics and similar genres. The compilation consists of 21 tracks and same amount of different artists. Some of the featured artists are Xerxes The Dark, Limen, Crows In The Rain, Anunnaki Signal, XSIX, Reza Solatipour, Saint Abdullah and many others.
The compilation offers a long journey into the discovery of Iranian dark experimental underground music. The simurgh on the cover artwork is pretty symbolic for the whole thing, it's depicted in Iranian art as a winged creature in the shape of a bird, gigantic enough to carry off an elephant or a whale. It appears as a peacock with the head of a dog and the claws of a lion, sometimes however, also with a human face. Iranian legends consider the bird so old that it had seen the destruction of the world three times over. The simurgh learned so much by living so long that it is thought to possess the knowledge of all the ages. We hope this mythological benevolent creature could be a hope and a a guide in our dark times. You can get your copy at this location and as well give it a listen in the player below. Link
