MADDER MORTEM - Guitarist Leaves The Band, Announces Replacement

Norwegian female fronted alternative/avantgarde metallers Madder Mortem have today announced that guitarist Richard Wikstrand who has been with the band since the release of the album Red In Tooth And Claw (2016) will be leaving the band. With three kids it has become more and more challenging for Richard to combine band and family life now that Madder Mortem has been picking up momentum and hitting the road more, and he has made the decision of putting his family first.
Richard will be replaced by Anders Langberg, known from Souls Of Tide. Anders filled in for Richard on the second leg of Madder Mortem’s tour with Soen last year, and with 14 live dates with Madder Mortem under his belt, the Madders are confident he’ll be a great asset to the band.
The line-up change has been timed to coincide with the upcoming release of the Madder Mortem’s new album Marrow, which is the first album that Richard recorded with the band, and both Richard and Anders will be participating in the band’s upcoming crowdfunding campaign, and will also both play with the band at the release party for Marrow.
Commenting on the line-up change, Madder Mortem had this to say: "We are really sorry that Richard is leaving us, since he is an amazing guitar player, and has had a huge creative impact on Marrow. However, we respect and understand his need to put his family first, and we wish Richard the absolute best. He will still be a part of our upcoming crowdfunding campaign, and we hope that you'll join us in giving him a great farewell at the release party for Marrow!" More information about Marrow will follow within the next week. Link
