UK based industrial rock/post-punk band The State has released today a new single, EP and music video called Human. In addition to the title track single, "Human", the EP also contains a remix of the previous single, "The Resistance", called "Resistance Cell", and a remix of "Human" called "Human Suffering".
The video for "Human", which you can watch in the player below, was shot in a single day at RAF Upwood, an abandoned air force base near Peterborough, by Daniel Smith and Hector Campbell, the same crew who shot "The Resistance" video, which you can watch at this location.
The band comments: "The song arose out of a lack of humanity being demonstrated around the world of late such as the dehumanising of immigrants and minorities, the refugee crisis, people fleeing extreme violence and poverty, attacks on the rights of women and the LGBTQ community, rise of fascism (how could the lessons learned from WW2 be forgotten so quickly or at all?!), and the rise of homelessness to name a few. The concept for the video follows this in that the main character has been dehumanised so much that he has become as nothing more than a corpse or the undead and is demanding that he feels the same emotions and has the same needs and vulnerabilities as everyone else."
