Do you want to know to secret of staying creative, imaginative, fresh, coherent and highly enjoyable as a band through decades? Well don’t ask me, I have no idea what the secret recipe is, but Depeche Mode sure do. If you don’t believe it, then Delta Machine is here to convince you.

After 33 years and monumental albums such as Black Celebration, Violator and Songs Of Faith And Devotion, after numerous hits that have been sealed down in the history of music, Depeche Mode delivered Delta Machine – bold, fresh, consistent and mature. It’s needless to say Depeche Mode have entered their golden era in the late 80s/early 90s, but fortunately their sound didn’t diminish after reaching its peak.

Delta Machine is…. different. Especially for those who are most appealed to their snythpop era. It’s dark and bluesy, with dense electronic rhythms. The entrance into the album through "Welcome To My World" reminds of a slow, heavy pulse that is about to lead into cardiac arrest, but instead of, when it reaches the chorus, you get the feeling you’re very much alive. Electronic beats, spiced up with sexy tunes, can be romantic and sleazy at the same time. "Should Be Higher" sounds incredibly sexy and "Heaven" is the romantic anthem of the album. "Secret To The End" is filled with passion and desire, "My Little Universe" has a futuristic sound, while "The Child Inside" is meant to break hearts with its tune. "Alone" is a song that just about anyone can relate to, and "Slow" brings up a bluesy touch to it.

Everything on Delta Machine just falls into its place. The diversity of the songs and the ambient on the album is in perfect balance with the integrity of its sound. Delta Machine is a rock solid, mature electronic album and a proof Depeche Mode is not nearly done broadening their horizons on the music scene.
