Dutch gothic/doom band with an electro twist, After Taste, released a brand new track and video "Mind Over Body", an anthem that lingers in the shadows of gothic, industrial and doom metal. The track is taken from the upcoming album entitled Hungry For Life, which will be out on 16 May 2025.
Vocalist/guitarist Dave Meester comments on the track: "I have always been fascinated by the concept of fantasizing, especially a fantasy about another person. This person has no control over your fantasy of them, which can feel very exciting and arousing. Ironically, it also portraits a certain loneliness. The fantasy will never be reality."
Known for weaving melancholic doom metal with an electronic pulse, this release is a chilling exploration of love, loss, and the fragility of the human mind. With echoes of Paradise Lost, the bleak humour of Type O Negative, and the crushing weight of Triptykon, After Taste masterfully captures the emptiness beneath the surface.
The video "Mind Over Body" is right below, and the previously released track "Sustain Me", can be found over HERE. More news on the upcoming album, Hungry For Life, such as cover artwork and tracklist, will be announced soon. Link
