Australian atmospheric black metal project Deciduous Forest has unveiled the first track, "The Formless Dark", from its upcoming debut album, Fields Of Yore, set for release on 23 June by Gutter Prince Cabal.
Crafted by Snjór, a Brisbane-based multi-instrumentalist and composer, Deciduous Forest weaves together atmospheric black metal, neofolk, and cinematic ambient into richly textured soundscapes where melancholy and grandeur meet.
Built on a foundation of soaring synths, intricate guitar work, and impassioned vocals, Fields Of Yore balances bleak introspection with moments of transcendent light. It's a record that lingers like a half-remembered dream: haunting, fragile, and unforgettable.
For fans of Agalloch, Wolves In The Throne Room, and Midnight Odyssey, Deciduous Forest offers an inspiring and emotionally charged debut that stands firmly among the genre's most evocative storytellers. Link
