Budapest's atmospheric black metal solo project Mortgrim has unleashed the second track, "Majesty Of The Morning Star", taken from the forthcoming sophomore record Evangelium Luciferianum, slated for release on 31 October via Fetzner Death Records, arriving in digipak and cassette formats.
The conceptual pairing of Evangelium and Luciferianum forms an intentional oxymoron. Mortgrim's new album serves as an alternative codex of forbidden wisdom, where classical occultism, Gnostic Luciferian philosophy, and darker, more destructive themes intertwine to articulate a deeper, esoteric message.
Rather than functioning merely as a collection of wrathful compositions, the record may be interpreted as a theological and philosophical journey: from the glory of the Light‑Bringer, through rebellion, towards magical fulfilment. It examines the downfall of religious dogma and the collapse of human hubris.
Máté Nagy founded Mortgrim in 2025, intending to merge raw black metal intensity with atmospheric and doom‑laden influences. The result is a deeply personal, spiritual musical path. Alongside cold tremolo‑picked riffs and crushing mid‑tempo passages, the lyrics explore spiritual, philosophical, and occult themes, shaping a dark, immersive soundscape.
In February 2026, Mortgrim released its debut full‑length, Blasphemy — a six‑track descent into ritualistic darkness that showcases the project's distinctive approach, combining bleak atmospheres with uncompromising black metal aggression.
