One of goth rock's most enchanting and influential acts, Faith And The Muse — the collaboration between Monica Richards (Strange Boutique) and William Faith (Christian Death, Mephisto Waltz, Sex Gang Children, Shadow Project) — is set to relaunch their seminal 1994 debut record, Elyria. A cornerstone of the goth and darkwave canon, Elyria left an indelible mark on the scene, admired for its artistry, emotional depth and genre‑transcending vision.
Remastered in 2026 by Faith, with new graphics by Richards, the CD digipak edition features two additional panels containing quotes and reflections from the duo about the creation of the album. The remastered Elyria will arrive on 9 October through Metropolis Records and will not be made available in digital format.
Pulsating with inspiration and creative fervour, Elyria comprises 14 tracks that are both sophisticated and otherworldly. Highlights include the post‑punk‑infused "Sparks" and "The Trauma Coil", the seductive medieval and Renaissance‑inspired "Vervain", the shimmering "All Lovers Lost", and the evocative, atmospheric title track that opens the album.
Further remastered reissues of Anwyn, Beneath The Waves (1995) and Evidence Of Heaven (1999) — Faith And The Muse's second and third albums — are due to follow in early 2027. Link
