Berlin‑based trio Dina Summer — the supergroup formed by Greek‑German duo Local Suicide and Bavarian producer Kalipo (Frittenbude) — return with their sleek new single and video “Bats In Paris”, a nocturnal synth‑wave anthem built on sharp electronics, sultry spoken vocals and an irresistibly catchy chorus.
Drawing from 80s italo disco, new wave, EBM and early electroclash, Dina Summer crafts a dark retro‑futuristic sound defined by club‑ready basslines, neon‑lit hooks and lyrics that swing between dadaist abstraction and empowering, thought‑provoking themes.
On 9 October via Iptamenos Discos, the trio will release their new nine‑track mini album Children Of The Night, a record that gathers every facet of their evolving sonic identity. Inspired by Bela Lugosi’s iconic line from Dracula (1931) — “Listen to them. Children of the night… what music they make” — the album pays homage to nocturnal culture and the creatures who thrive within it.
The title track marks a new era for Dina Summer: high‑flying synths fire like warning shots over propulsive basslines while Dina summons an army to the dancefloor. It’s a call to misfits, goths and night dwellers — an invitation to step out of the shadows and build a world of their own.
“Bats In Paris” channels that same energy. A crisp synth intro sets the scene for Dina’s cool, spoken‑word delivery, evoking the spirit of their fan‑favourite “Girls Gang” while leaning further into pop allure. Kalipo joins her for a chorus that sticks instantly, making the track a perfect soundtrack for stalking moodily through the night.
Dina Summer will support the release with an extensive Children Of The Night Tour, performing at major festivals and venues including Berghain, Wave Gotik Treffen, Amphi Festival, E‑Tropolis, Grauzone, Out Of Line Weekender, Katzenclub Festival, Extramuralhas and Baroeg, followed by headline shows in Berlin, London, Paris, Athens, São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Santiago, Buenos Aires and more.
