The mysterious Bucharest‑based symphonic/gothic/doom metal ensemble Green Eyes Of Darkness will release their long‑awaited debut album, Fire Waves, on 22 December through Loud Rage Music. Spanning 13 tracks and nearly 80 minutes, the record gathers compositions created across decades, some dating back to the ’90s, making it a landmark release for the Romanian metal scene.
Fire Waves reflects years of persistence and transformation, bringing to life unfinished sketches, rare live pieces from the late ’90s, and songs once limited by early recording technology. At its core, the album symbolises the eternal tension between creation and destruction — waves that rise and fall, fire that consumes or purifies — a philosophy that defines the band’s uncompromising approach to music.
Founded by guitarist Dragoș Grigorescu (Abigail, Hovercraft, Serenity) and bassist Cătălin “Flamă” Scânteie (Abigail, Rising Shadow, Hatemode), the project came fully alive with the addition of vocalist Georgiana Bogdana Stoian (Vârf Carpatin). Together they channel passion and resilience into a sound that defies formulas and fleeting trends.
