Swedish dark and mysterious outfit Killing Kind returns with its second album, Being Human—a darker, heavier fusion of post-punk, synth-pop, and gothic textures. Recorded at the legendary Sunlight Studio with producer Tomas Skogsberg, the album blends haunting melodies with sci-fi and horror motifs, offering a reflection on the fragility of our times.
Following their well-received 2023 debut and the global success of singles like “This Beautiful World” and “Desperately Holding On”, Killing Kind has evolved from a pandemic-born side project into a commanding live act with a distinct sonic identity.
Spanning eleven tracks, Being Human delivers incantations for a dying world—where humanity, in its desperation, attempts to douse infernos with gasoline. The lyrics draw heavily from classic sci-fi and horror, channelling a collective sense of global trauma.
Fans of The Cure, Depeche Mode, and David Bowie will recognise familiar echoes, yet Killing Kind carves out its own DNA—moody, cinematic, and emotionally charged. Their debut was warmly received, with “This Beautiful World” reaching radio audiences across continents. The first single from Being Human, “Desperately Holding On” (released summer 2025), has already followed suit.
Originally conceived during lockdown, Killing Kind has since matured into a fully-fledged band, performing live and continuously evolving through new writing and recording. Being Human will be released via Aenaos Records and Viskningar och Vrål on 31 October. Link
