Belgian gothic/synth‑rock outfit Lovelorn Dolls have announced via their official Facebook page the passing of one of the band's founding members, Bernard Daubresse.

"It is with immense shock and deep sorrow that we share the devastating news of the sudden passing of Bernard Daubresse, the musician and creative force behind Lovelorn Dolls.  It feels impossible to believe. Just this weekend he was sharing with us his latest new song, full of ideas and artistic fire… and now he is gone. The emptiness he leaves behind is overwhelming, for all of us who knew him, worked with him, and loved his unique presence. At Alfa Matrix / Spleen+, we are profoundly proud and honoured to have known him and to have released his music since 2013. Bernard's talent, his sharp cynical dark side, his unmistakable artistic brilliance, his unique complicity with Kristell - these were gifts he shared freely with the world, and they will be missed more than words can express. He left us far too soon, with so many dreams still ahead, so many challenges yet to conquer. He loved surprising us… but this is one surprise we were not prepared for, and one we wish had never come... Our thoughts go to Kristell and the Dollz, all his friends, collaborators, family and loved ones. Rest in peace, Bernard. Your art remains, and so does the mark you left on all of us. 🖤" - Benoit, Bernard, Seba

Lovelorn Dolls recently evolved from a duo into a trio and released their True Crimes EP on 3 October via Alfa Matrix / Spleen+.
