Croatian folk metal powerhouse Manntra have unveiled "Wild Hunt", the thunderous title track from their forthcoming studio album of the same name. Accompanied by a visually striking official video, the new single captures the band's signature fusion of heavy metal intensity, dark mythology and cinematic storytelling.
Filmed amidst snow-covered forests and illuminated by blazing fires, the video's mystical atmosphere brings the song's ancient themes vividly to life. Adding further depth to the track is a guest appearance by Fabienne Erni of Eluveitie and Illumishade, whose powerful vocals intertwine seamlessly with those of Manntra founder and frontman Marko Matijević Sekul. Together, they create a dynamic vocal partnership that amplifies both the song's emotional weight and its epic scope.
Drawing inspiration from the legendary folklore of the Wild Hunt, the song evokes a supernatural procession riding through storm and darkness. Its lyrics tell a story of redemption, transformation and renewal, where salvation is offered only to those willing to confront their fears, abandon their former selves and embrace the unknown. Amid flashes of lightning, shadowy landscapes and the lingering presence of ancient gods, Manntra weave a narrative that is both ominous and uplifting.
Speaking about the collaboration and the track's concept, the band commented: "Fabienne Erni brought incredible energy to 'Wild Hunt'. Her voice and Marko's complement each other perfectly, creating a powerful dynamic that takes the song to another level. The result is something dark, epic, and truly special."
They continued: "The legend of the Wild Hunt has everything we love: ancient spirits, supernatural forces, storm and darkness. We wanted to capture that untamed energy and turn it into a story about redemption, courage, and the chance to start again. 'Wild Hunt' captures the essence of Manntra: heavy riffs, powerful melodies, dark mythology, and an energy that pulls you into another world."
Serving as a compelling introduction to the band's next chapter, "Wild Hunt" showcases everything that has made Manntra one of the most distinctive names on the modern folk metal scene, combining crushing riffs, sweeping melodies and timeless mythology into a powerful and immersive experience.
Wild Hunt will be released via Napalm Records on 25 December, while the official video, directed by Dorian Pavlović, offers a captivating glimpse into the album's dark and mythic world. Link
