Los Angeles (USA)-based modern dark metal band Raven Black released a brand new single and video, "FxCK YOU". The single comes off the upcoming album, Black Sonata, which will be released on 12 September. A collection of Raven Black's darker metal carnival.
Familiar but unexpected new oddities find themselves thrown into the metal madness with dark, fun, quirky, weird, creepy and disturbing chaos. Sing, scream, dance, cry, pit or all of it! Exactly what was intended. Music that moves you into another world. This world, in the 13th Hour, of Raven Black.
The band comments: "With the first single release, 'FxCK YOU', we wanted to just start out with the “no rules, no expectations” vibe to this album. We have never had explicit lyrics in any of our music in the past 10 years. It’s past due. Being authentic is more important to us than what is expected in today’s trends of what people may think metal music should be. We think our music is a Sonata. Our Black Sonata."
Raven shares: “When you’re faced with loss, grief, sadness and anger all at the same time, it is hard to focus on anything in your life. The pause button is necessary. I paused for a moment to do what I needed to do for my own physical and mental health. I found myself. All of me, all the pieces, even the hidden ones. This album is so special. With my husband, Ryan “Muppet” Cox, and friend, Maezi Kacey, and working with Ulrich Wild, at WURMgroup, this has become our best work since we started in 2011. No more rules. Our Art is expressed."
Hailing as a “Dark Metal Carnival”, the band has released three albums since 2016 and toured rigorously since, supporting acts such as Cradle Of Filth, DevilDriver, Jinjer, Mushroomhead and Static-X. The band was previously managed by The Oracle, (Dez Fafara of Coal Chamber and DevilDriver) and has worked exclusively with their producer Ulrich Wild (Grammy -nominated with works of Static-X, White Zombie, Deftones).
