Italy/UK-based indie outfit Reversed Chakra has released their four-track EP Rarefied, a genre-blurring exploration of darkwave, shoegaze, and post-rock textures. Out now via Dungeon Media and streaming worldwide, Rarefied marks a bold step forward for the band, known for their emotionally charged soundscapes and introspective lyricism.

At the heart of the EP lies a haunting reinterpretation of Duran Duran’s 1984 hit "The Wild Boys". Reversed Chakra transforms the synth-pop anthem into a brooding, atmospheric indie rock statement, drenched in shadow and reverb. The track was produced and mixed by legendary sonic architect John Fryer—renowned for his work with Depeche Mode, Nine Inch Nails, and HIM—and mastered by Alan Douches, whose credits include Converge, Chelsea Wolfe, and The Chemical Brothers.

"Rarefied is a statement about contrasts: beauty and decay, danger and desire," the band explains. "Covering 'The Wild Boys' allowed us to pay homage to the spirit of the 80s while pushing it through our darker lens." That ethos permeates the EP, which balances shimmering guitar layers with visceral emotional depth.

Following acclaimed singles like "Game Of Chess", "All The Way Down", and "Dust", Rarefied sees Reversed Chakra refining their sound while embracing new sonic territory. The EP blends cinematic post-rock atmospheres with the urgency of modern indie, offering listeners a rich and immersive experience.

Reversed Chakra's sound explores deep emotions, crafting stories that transcend the ordinary. Imagine a fusion of Interpol and Editors, seasoned with hints of Kings Of Leon and Placebo, all enveloped in the ethereal beauty of The Cure and Sigur Rós. This sonic journey defies genres and promises to leave you spellbound.

Rarefied is available now on all major streaming platforms. Fans of moody, genre-defying music won’t want to miss this evocative release. The lyric video for "The Wild Boys" is also live—an ideal entry point into the band’s hypnotic world. Link
