Finnish act Sielue unveils "Ensilumi", the second single from the upcoming album, Askel tyhjyyteen, set for release on 23 May via Nordvis Produktion. Mystical acoustics infused with traditional Nordic folk and a shadowy metallic edge by Janne Posti, the mastermind behind Häxkapell and Sons Of Crom.

"Ensilumi", meaning 'The First Snow', captures the fleeting magic of autumn's final breath as winter slowly descends. Inspired by a moment of quiet reverence in northeastern Finland, the song reflects on transition – the gentle hush of snow settling over the land, the lake's surface freezing into silence, and the embrace of stillness as one season fades into the next.

Built on a flowing 5/8 rhythm, "Ensilumi" moves in a graceful yet unpredictable manner, its melodies intertwining. A wordless choral elegy rises alongside delicate, solitary piano lines, each carrying echoes of what was and what is to come. As the piece reaches its final ascent, violins emerge – their only appearance on the album – spiralling toward resolution before returning, transformed, to where they began.

The song's closing moments feature a field recording of Kitka Lake's 'singing ice' – an eerie, resonant voice from the depths, captured in the weeks following the first snowfall. A haunting farewell. A quiet welcome. The cycle continues.

Janne Posti comments: "That unforgettable, magical moment when the first snow fell – just as I was about to leave the cabin after the week that birthed Sielue – felt like Mother Earth embracing me in farewell. That brief, fleeting point in time left its mark on my very being, confirming the depth and validity of Sielue's quest. Be grateful for those passing moments that might otherwise be lost in the bustle of everyday life – for in silence and solitude, the whisper of truth is easy to hear."
