Tamara Macera, aka Calliope, has released her third original song: “Il Re Minore". Lending her mezzo-soprano voice to darkened power-pop, after her first two original songs, "in Carta Vergine" and "Obl_io", Calliope returns with a violent sound and an equally angry theme.
“Il Re Minore", which plays on a noble title and tonality, represents the shadow zone of every person: a page who sees a king in the mirror or the optical illusion dictated by these uncertain times.
Calliope’s project is a journey of rediscovery of aggressive sounds and hermetic texts. Word use is fundamental, while a distinctive tonality gives space to a serious and full-bodied voice. Each song does not tap into specific themes; rather, everything is detached from the social and sentimental dimension, and pointing to the expression of some truth. The same applies to music: never transcending the words and becoming its servant.
Video for the song “Il Re Minore" was directed by Ottavio Proietti, also a young Italian talent, and you can watch it in the player below. Link
