Italian artist Calliope, the solo project of singer/songwriter Tamara Macera, released a brand new single “Wuthering Wednesday". The song is a sonority and vocal experiment, far from the aggressive sound of the previous releases. In "Wuthering Wednesday" the absence of instruments, and the use of synths and the piano notes only, projects the listener into a dreamlike dimension, in a suspended and multidimensional universe.
While listening to the song it is possible to experience the cosmic background radiation, the electromagnetic radiation which permeates the universe, considered proof of the Big Bang model. The way of singing also changes: Calliope moved from the dark and present mezzo-soprano voice, to a different register paying homage to Kate Bush. Calliope in "Wuthering Wednesday", adopted English language.
Calliope comments: "Wednesday is Wotan/Odin day, the precise half of the week, the balance to our daily life, a cosmic balance that is disturbed by "wuthering" frequencies and by the deep emptiness of daily infinity."
The music video was directed by Piero Calvarese, a young promise from Abruzzo and the song was recorded at Andrea Tirimacco's AtStudio. Listen to the song and watch the video below. Link
