Canadian singer and multi-instrumentalist Lindsay Schoolcraft (Antiqva, ex-Cradle Of Filth), has released a brand new single and video for her new song "Worlds Away". The song is taken from her upcoming album of the same name, which will be released on 9th October via her own label Cyber Proxy Records.
Lindsay commented: ""Worlds Away" was written about feeling isolated and as far away as possible from someone you love and don't know how to tell them your feelings for them. When the pandemic struck I was inspired to finish this piece that was laying dormant for quite some time and then when the opportunity struck to film a music video I knew right away this was the song. The concept to this music video is being out in the middle of no where and feeling secluded. While any of your attempts to communicate to people aren't possible, all that exists are the feelings you have left inside and that's what keeps your hoping for better days to come. I feel like anyone can relate to that after the year we've all been through."
Lindsay Schoolcraft chose to look back on her gothic metal past and reimagine it in an entirely new light. This year’s project is a different entity than we are used from her. Lindsay has made no secret of her love of playing electric harp, which she has combined with string arrangements for a completely different take on her discography. The result is Worlds Away. Here, she reunites with collaborator Rocky Gray (original drummer of Evanescence, who co-wrote her lates album Martyr).
This record may be worlds away from what you know of Lindsay Schoolcraft, but that works to its credit. The songs sound vibrant, and it is impressive that without listening to the original versions, one would never be able to tell these were re-workings. Link
