Terra Relicta webmagazine brings you a very special exclusive premiere of Gaia Guarda's brand new video for the song "At The Bottom". The song is taken from her debut solo album, Anatomy Of Fear, which is officially released today (6th November) via Pentapus Records. This special video was filmed by Dani Rod from Above the Sky Studios, and edited by Gaia Guarda.
Gaia Guarda comes from Montreal (Canada), she's a pianist, harpist, and singer, for some better known as the vocalist of extreme metal band Uriel. In her solo project she's joined by drummer Rocky Gray(ex-Evanescence, Lindsay Schoolcraft) and her Uriel bandmates Jessica Ricard on cello and violinist Ariane Paquette on violin, this work of neoclassical darkwave is absolutely an entrancing and auspicious debut.
Classically-trained musician Gaia Guarda comments about her debut album: "I've been playing in metal bands for the last nine years and I decided to go outside that genre with my solo project. I'm influenced by a lot of classical music and electronic music, so that's the main influence in my music. I learned how to play the harp by myself and decided to add it on this album; some songs were composed while I was learning to play it."
The debut album Anatomy Of Fear, consists of nine songs and was recorded at Studio PM and Monolithic Productions and came to fruition following a successful Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign. Fellow harpist Lindsay Schoolcraft (Antiqva, ex-Cradle Of Filth) collaborated with Gaia Guarda on the song "I Didn't Break", a special bonus perk that was sent out to supporters.
The song "At The Bottom" is soothing, and at the same time very emotional and brooding piece of music, it's one of the darkest songs on Gaia Guarda's debut album. Gaia comments about the song and the video: ""At The Bottom" was filmed at home right before the second lockdown in Montreal. It is one of my oldest songs, I wrote it while I was dealing with getting out of an abusive relationship. This song contains all the emotions I was going through at the moment. It's a dark and emotional song that will always have a special place in my heart. This song helped me heal my wounds and make sense of the nonsense."
We are proud to present you Gaia Guarda's new video, and you can watch the video in player below, and get the album at this location. It's a very special collection of neoclassical, darkwave, trip-hop and yet more, and you can as well hear the entire thing in the Bandcamp player below the video.
