WHISPERS IN THE SHADOW - Unveils Cover Of David Bowie's "I'm Afraid Of Americans"

Austrian dark/goth rock masters Whispers In The Shadow, who will release on 6th November via Solar Lodge their 10th full-length album entitled Yesterday Is Forever, have released a brand new single, a cover of David Bowie's hit "I'm Afraid Of Americans".

Ashley Dayour (vocals/guitars) comments: "With the USA election just eight days away we thought it is more than fitting to release a cover of this very song. This election will set the course for the western world in the years to come. It's not the first time we make a comment about this. 2018 "The Rat King" from the album The Urgency Of Now is basically about the same things. We actually played "Americans" for quite some time now. it's fantastic song and the cynical lyrics should be self explanatory and the message is very clear. It's funny that Bowie wrote this tune in the mid/late 90s. When you thought things were bad back then, well flash forward to 2020 and you are in for some surprises. This song is more relevant than ever before."

Yesterday Is Forever is a successor to in 2018 released rather post-punkish The Urgency Of Now, is a kaleidoscopic tour de force through diverse moods and styles some of them unheard in the bands 24 year history. The song "I'm Afraid Of Americans" is featured on the crowdfunding bonus album, Distant Thoughts II,  and as a Bandcamp exclusive single including the B Side "The Brave & The Bold", which you can get as a "name your price" digital download at this location. Once again Whispers In The Shadow prove they are far from repeating the same thing over and over again. Previously released video for the song "Walk On The Mirror" and "Forever 1985" can be checked out over HERE. (Band photo is courtesy of Werner Nowak) Link
