BÁL - Unveils New Project With Smara Kand, New EP And Videos Released

Hungarian mystical black metal act BÁL has recently released a new EP titled Hirsch. This is a collaboration between multiinstrumentalist Bálint Rósz aka BÁL and Austrian visual artist Smara Kand, who wrote the lyrics and is a video producer and actress in the videos.

Hirsh is an interesting project, and Bálint Rósz explains: "The story of this EP is, Smara Kand who is my colleague and an artist from Austria, sent me a video series with german lyrics to compose songs for. Published in November, six songs in total, four songs are the four acts of the whole video and two bonus songs."

BÁL was formed in 2017 and since then it is very productive. The debut album Duna was released in October 2018, it was followed by the demo Összel A Csillagok in December 2018, then the single Kerek Erdö II in October 2019. The second full-length was released in January 2020, a split album with Far From Everything titled The Infinite followed in June 2020, then another full-length, Krampusz, was released in September and just recently the new EP Hirsch.

Hirsch is the most atmospheric, melodic and clean sounding release that BÁL ever did. The influences of second-wave Scandinavian black metal are heard all over, but there's also some blackgaze and post-black metal elements put into the mix. The real impact on the listener is achieved with the mystical videos, and you can check it in the player below. Link
