HANGING GARDEN - Presents Music Video For The Title Track Of The Upcoming Album

Finnish melodic and melancholic doomsters Hanging Garden reveal title track from the forthcoming new album Skeleton Lake. Two weeks before the official release on the 21st of May via Lifeforce Records, the band presents a fantastic video for "Skeleton Lake". The group's approach to their art is based on emotion. Everything revolves around authenticity, honesty and unreserved openness. All this characterizes Hanging Garden's seventh studio album Skeleton Lake, whose progression is often implicit and whose direction of effect is sometimes suggestive. There is no right or wrong here.

Guitarist Jussi Hämäläinen about the song: ""Skeleton Lake" was different right from the start. Usually, I have a clear vision of the song I'm writing but with "Skeleton Lake" it was all about trial and error. The song had a working title "Solemn" which pretty much sums up the feeling I was aiming for... slow, huge wall of sound with beautiful harmonies. They are still all there but in a different way. After trying out different arrangements the last thing I came up with was this beautiful guitar lead. I decided to leave out the heavy rhythm guitars and let the song breathe with only synths and some clean guitars accompanying the lead."

Toni: "Lyrics for Skeleton Lake's title track were written by Riikka, upon her listening to the music of the song, and doing an introspective journey through the feelings and landscapes the song invoked in her."

The connection to the seventh album of the Finns presents itself inevitably. Although the playing of Hanging Garden tends to be gloomy and melancholic, from to time, the songs also seem optimistic or even euphoric. Since Riikka Hatakka joined the band as a permanent vocalist on Into That Good Night (2019), the musical picture has partially brightened and, additionally, the sound cosmos of the Finns has broadened noticeably. The resulting impressions seem manifold and even more emotional. Watch the video and listen to the beautiful "Skeleton Lake" in the player below. Link
