Urku Llanthu has just released the third track from the upcoming full-length via Takiri Producciones Independiente. "Kunkana", which translated from the Quechua dialect means "Forget", is yet another Urku Llanthu song dedicated to the Andean ancestral people. In the area they called the Tahuantinsuyo (the Milky Way), where the dead received as much respect as the living ones, the cosmos and the solstice days are bridges that connect the celestial world with the terrestrial one. The sun opens the doors to the ancestors allowing the living to consult the dead. If these bridges are open it bodes well. And this is what "Kunkana" embodies. "Kunkana" continues to spiritually amalgamate the fundamental theme of Urku Llanthu's sophomore album - the death mourning and the importance of the concept to preserve and maintain traditions, funeral rites throughout the region and that great astral travel that seeks the being in the company of the strong roots of the soul. "Kunkana" awaits you in the player below.
Quito (Ecuador) based one-man-band Urku Llanthu (Mountain Shadow) was formed by Pablo Mesías in 2018. Its self-titled debut album of eight tracks was released in November 2020 in CD format via Pablo Mesías independent production Takiri Producciones Independiente. Link
