Urku Llanthu - Quito, Ecuador based dark/folk ambient solo musical project of Pablo Mesías aka. Atuk Urku Llanthu has recently released the sophomore album Waka Isku via Pablo Mesías' independent production Takiri Producciones Independiente. Waka Isku (Haze Grave) makes exact reference and remembrance to the space and the path of the being and its spirit through its various edges of presence and permanence in the astral path of the soul when detaching from the physical body.
Waka Isku is like its predecessor Urku Llanthu (Mountain Shadow), released in November 2020, dedicated to the Andean ancestral people. According to Urku Llanthu, Waka Isku continues to spiritually amalgamate the fundamental theme that is the mortuary mourning, the concept of preservation towards traditions, mystical and ancestral funeral rites, throughout the region and that great astral journey that the being seeks in the company of the strong rootedness towards the soul. All seven tracks of Waka Isku carry titles of Quechua dialect: "Intro: Tutayana" (Dusk), "Yawar Uya" (Face Of Blood), "Sakra Ruku" (Old Medicine Man), "Kunkana" (Forget), "Wampuna" (Float), "Chaskina" (Accept), "Outro: Chaki Kati" (Footprint).
Urku Llanthu comments on the album: "In the habitat of the Andean ancestral peoples, especially in the area they called the Tahuantinsuyo (the Milky Way), the days of the solstice are bridges that connect the celestial world with the terrestrial one. The Sun opens the doors to the ancestors allowing the living to consult the dead. If these bridges are open, it bodes well. The fountains, caves or other openings on the earth's surface are considered lines of communication between the Uku Pacha and the Kay Pacha. Namely, the Andean space is conceived on two different levels: horizontal and vertical. In the horizontal plane, the ancient Incas dually saw the world; "hanan" and "hurin" (up and down). This division is understood as complementarity, opposition and reciprocity. While, vertically, the space was divided into three patches: Hanan Pacha (world above, heavenly or superterrestrial), Kay Pacha (world of the present and from here) and Uku Pacha (world below or world of the dead)."
The vision of the primary peoples in the great Abya-Yala (American) continent is the journey to another world of stay - according to the Andean ancestral beliefs and customs. The Waka Isku journey awaits you right below. Link
