The USA-based avant-garde blackened folk/doom metal act Forever Autumn has unveiled the new EP Crowned In Skulls. Featuring a guest appearance from Aaron Stainthorpe of the legendary doom band My Dying Bride on "The Forest And The Nyght", the EP delves further into acoustic and pagan realms.
Autumn Ni Dubhghaill comments: "It is with great honor that we release Crowned In Skulls unto you. Finally, after a long wait and a great effort, the EP is out. The five werkes contained therein are reflective of the movement and growth of Forever Autumn. When I look back, it's difficult to believe that it's been over two decades. Though we lost a lot of that early material, I have, over the years, come to terms with it. Crowned In Skulls proudly carries forward this labour of love and loss. Come, share in this otherworldly medicine and be forever changed".
Forever Autumn was formed in 2000 by the driving force Autumn Ni Dubhghaill. This led to the band's first self-titled demo in 2001, and several others followed during that decade. In the 2010s, Forever Autumn moved on with a series of wider album releases, beginning with Patience of ðm Fire-Keeper (2014), and followed that with a reborn version of its 2008 debut full-length Waiting For Öktober MMXVI, then Howls In The Forest At Dusk (2019) and more recently an EP, Hail The Forest Dark, as well as contributing to various compilations and tribute releases.
