THE EFFIGY - Offers New Single And Video

Australian cinematic gothic act The Effigy, the solo effort of Effy Gold, has offered a stunning new single and video - "Breach". The song is a dreamy mix of the 90s and modern sounds, with a slight dose of pop thrown into the music.

The artist comments: "I wrote 'Breach' about falling in love with someone over 9000 miles away, on the other side of the globe. The idea of using technology to communicate in a way that couldn't have happened 25 years ago inspired me to create a song infused with the dreamy quality of 90s alternative and Britrock, juxtaposing the nostalgic sound with the modern themes to drive home just how fortunate we are to live in an age of unprecedented connectivity to those we otherwise would never have met. For the video, I decided to head in another direction; one that instead looks ahead into the (perhaps not so) distant future. In this future, a lonely AI slowly falls in love with the natural world. They dream of walking in the ocean and feeling the wind upon their skin, but are ultimately unable to breach the glass and make contact; doomed to remain a prisoner to a technological cage. Though 'Breach' is a little different from my past works, I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed working on it!"

Originally from the UK and now based out of Perth, Australia, The Effigy draws influences from the likes of Evanescence, Joy Division, Garbage and Keane and is thematically inspired by gothic and folk imagery, along with mythology. The Effigy's music is a cinematic array of eclectic styles explored through expert composition.

Now, "Breach"... Link
