Swedish death/doom metal outfit October Tide has unleashed the second single, "Blodfattig", from its upcoming seventh full-length, The Cancer Pledge, slated for release on 6 October via Agonia Records. The band considers "Blodfattig", which appears midway through the record, its most unique composition.
"This is perhaps the most extreme song on the album", comments guitarist Fredrik Norrman (ex-Katatonia, ex-Trees Of Eternity, Thenighttimeproject) on "Blodfattig". "If 'Tapestry Of Our End' is a more traditional October Tide song, then 'Blodfattig' is the opposite, with some thrash inspired riffs and an intricate song structure."
Vocalist Alexander Högbom (ex-Demonical) adds: "Out of October Tide's whole discography, this must be the track that stands out the most. It really is a unique song and one of my personal favorite of this album. I'm very proud of how it turned out".
