ZORNHEYM - Premieres New Single From Upcoming Debut Album

Swedish symphonic extreme metallers Zornheym just released a new single named "A Silent God". The single is a part of bands upcoming debut full-lenght, Where Hatred Dwells, And Darkness Reigns, which will be released this winter through Non Serviam Records.
Zornheym was founded in Stockholm and is led by multi-instrumental mastermind and songwriter Zorn (known as ex-member of Dark Funeral, former member of death/thrash metallers Devian and a guitarist in hardcore combo Aktiv Dödshjälp), who after parting ways with his former band, he was determined to shake up the traditional metal meets symphony approach with his new band. Zornheym quickly grew from an ambitious idea into a dramatic musical and cinematic narrative revolving around the horrors of a mental institution and its prisoners.
Inspiration drawn from icons such as Dissection, Dimmu Borgir and King Diamond is paired with real string orchestration and a powerful full choir. Every song on the debut album will have a visual accompaniment in the form of short graphic stories with further exploration of the themes as short films in place of the standard approach to music videos.
The line-up is completed by Facebreaker's Bendler on vocals, guitarist and musical arranger Scucca, and Diabolical drummer Angst. The debut album has been recorded at Wing Studios by Sverker Widgren, renowned veteran of sound engineering on the Scandinavian extreme metal scene (October Tide, Demonical, IXXI, Diabolical).
"A Silent God" follows a concept that will interest fans of horror and gore; the songs tell the stories of the curious inmates of Zornheim – Asylum for the criminally insane, a place where time has stood still and their horrific pasts continue to haunt all upon its grounds. The track keeps your head banging and captivate your attention with a live string section played by Dies Iona Ensemble and a full choir providing powerful accompaniment to the band's already apparent musical and technical prowess. The single is part of Zornheym's concept that revolves around the horrors of a mental institution and its inmates. Each song also has its own comic strip drawn by the amazing artist Anu Bring (Märvel, Evil-Lÿn, Satan's Fall). Listen to and enjoy in the massive masterpiece named "A Silent God" in the player below.
