Australian gothic metal ensemble Blackened Rose have unveiled their new single, "Love Of The Serpentine Eye".
Founded in late 2022 by vocalist Aleksei Iagunkov, the group fuse gothic metal with shades of 80s hard rock, drawing inspiration from Type O Negative, HIM, Whitesnake, The 69 Eyes, and Opeth.
Lyrically, "Love Of The Serpentine Eye" delves into the deceptive, calculating, serpentine nature of the snake, weaving imagery of apples, poison, and devils throughout. The composition also channels influences from Dio and Black Sabbath, pairing a deep baritone vocal delivery with an unrestrained guitar‑driven solo that reinforces the track's dramatic, old‑school metal flair.
