Los Angeles’ rising darkwave/EBM/synth-pop duo ghostbells end 2025 on a commanding note with the release of their fifth single, "Immortal Lovers" — a slow-burning, heavy, and unmistakably modern goth anthem that plunges into the intoxicating pull of obsession, addiction, and the destructive patterns that refuse to loosen their grip.
With a sound rooted in 80s new wave melancholy, 90s EBM abrasion, and the spectral haze of witch house, ghostbells once again demonstrate their ability to merge retro sensibilities with contemporary production. "Immortal Lovers" unfurls with ghostly, reverberating vocals and a hypnotic rhythmic weight, tracing the fragile boundary where self-preservation dissolves into self-destruction and desire becomes indistinguishable from ruin.
Speaking about the single, the duo describe it as a portrait of cyclical collapse: "'Immortal Lovers' is about being trapped in the cycle of what keeps you alive and what destroys you. It’s that pull between survival and collapse — both coming from the same place. We wanted the song to feel heavy, hypnotic, and unrelenting, like repeating the same patterns, chasing the same feeling, even when it hurts."
The track arrives alongside a new music video, further refining ghostbells’ signature aesthetic — a fusion of gothy retro textures and sleek modern noir cinematography that amplifies the single’s emotional gravity.
"Immortal Lovers" also marks the beginning of an intense year ahead for the duo. Their 2026 schedule already includes confirmed appearances at Infest (UK), Out Of Line Weekender (Berlin), and a UK tour with Ashbury Heights, signalling a breakout year for one of dark music’s most intriguing emerging acts.
