Japan’s industrial–gothic force Godfrost, the solo creation of Gods Of Decay guitarist Frost, has entered a new chapter by signing a global multi‑album contract with the long‑running US label Brutal Records. The partnership marks a significant step forward for the rising project, setting the stage for an ambitious release schedule over the next two years.
Under the deal, Godfrost will unveil a new EP in 2026, produced by none other than industrial legend Lee Popa — a name synonymous with groundbreaking work for Ministry, KMFDM, Tool, Korn, and many others. A full-length album is already slated to follow in 2027, further solidifying the project’s long-term trajectory.
Founded in 1986 in New Orleans, Brutal Records has remained a steadfast institution within the extreme metal underground, championing death, black, and thrash metal across continents. With a strong presence throughout South America, Europe, and Asia, the label continues to serve as a bridge between emerging artists and global audiences.
Frost shared his enthusiasm for the collaboration: “I am incredibly proud to announce our signing with Brutal Records, a longstanding force in the American extreme metal scene. It is a true honor to work with a label that has been preserving the spirit of metal since 1986. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to President Michael Howard and the entire team for welcoming us with such a great agreement. I am also very excited to work with world-renowned industrial producer and engineer Lee Popa.”
Launched in 2023, Godfrost merges aggressive metal riffing, gothic atmospheres, and precision electronic programming into a distinctive industrial metal identity. Their debut album, released in 2024, made an immediate impact — entering the iTunes Metal Album Chart in Japan at No. 3.
Beyond his work as a composer and guitarist, Frost has earned recognition in the gear world, endorsed by the Japanese anime‑inspired pedal maker Sound Project “SIVA” and releasing several signature distortion pedals through The Next Sound. His creative reach extends further as a remixer and a well‑known late‑night radio DJ.
Earlier this year, Godfrost issued the single “Bloodcurdling Scream”, which you can stream below. Additional details about the track can be found HERE. Link
